Can I get to know the tutor before I book?

Yes. First choose your tutor and then book a free Introductory Session where you can get to know each other, set up on-line connections, understand your goals, and talk about how to structure our approach to meet your needs. When booking this introductory session be sure to choose the appropriate instructor of the subject in which your child will be tutored.

How many tutoring sessions do I have to buy?

There is no minimum number. You can choose anywhere from a single session to a package of 16 sessions at a discounted price.

How much is tutoring?

Single sessions start at $60. There are a variety of discounted packages to choose from that can take the cost per session to as low as $47.50 per session.

 

How far ahead of time can I book?

You can book up to eight weeks before the scheduled lesson. With our mobile app you can always easily track how many lessons you have remaining in your package plan.

How much notice do I have to give of cancellation or rescheduling?

We understand that things come up and kids get sick. You must give notice of cancellation no later than 12 hours before the scheduled session in order to receive a credit, although we encourage you to try to give at least 24 hours’ notice.

Can I cancel or reschedule online?

Yes. To cancel or reschedule online, log in to the Motivating Tutors website, click the down arrow in the Login bar, and from the menu choose My Bookings.

What happens if I missed the scheduled tutoring session, or if I am late?

If you miss a scheduled tutoring session which you have not cancelled at least 12 hours before the scheduled session, or if you are more than 15 minutes late, the connection will be closed and the lesson is forfeited. We recommend that you be at your computer and ready to connect at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time.

What happens if my tutor misses a scheduled tutoring session or is late?

If your tutor misses a scheduled tutoring session or is more than 5 minutes late for the session, you will be credited for that session and may reschedule.

When is the session over?

Your tutoring session ends 50 minutes after the scheduled start time regardless of the actual start time.

What is your refund policy if I have paid for unused sessions and decide to cancel the service?

You will be refunded the balance of unused lessons minus a $60 cancellation fee.

 

Can I book additional sessions beyond my package?

Yes, you can always book single lessons at any time, or purchase another package to put in your session inventory. You will be notified when your session inventory is depleted.

 

Can I increase the weekly number of sessions?

Yes. You can always schedule additional sessions if you have unused sessions in your inventory or purchase additional sessions. Scheduling additional sessions may need to be coordinated with your tutor.

What can I do with the mobile app?

You can quickly and easily manage all of your tutoring through the mobile app, including subject and tutor selection, scheduling, payment, and tracking of used and unused sessions.

How do I get the mobile app?

After you book your first session you will receive an invitation to download the mobile app.
