Salut, I’m Pauline!

I'm Pauline Lalanne and I'm looking forward to teaching you French! I am a native French speaker from Bordeaux, France, and a tutor for our Conversational French Course. For over 10 years I have been teaching French―from elementary school to the university level―and I am an experienced specialist in online French instruction.

I am the editor of our course textbook and videos, Instant FrenchQuick Preparation For A Trip To France, a one-semester conversational French course with an emphasis on speaking. Appropriate for ages 12 and older, Instant French was specifically designed for online teaching.

In one semester, I can have your child (or even you!) actually speaking  clear, confident conversational French, while providing enough grammar instruction to provide a solid foundation for further study. And if you're already taking a French course, I can help you to succeed in that course too.

Pauline grew up in Bordeaux, the famous wine-making province in the south west of France. After earning a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Poitiers, she spent a year in the U.S. as a Teaching Assistant at Middlebury College in Vermont where she also managed the student French House for the language department. Upon her return to France, she completed a Master's Degree in French as a Foreign Language from the University of Bordeaux.

Having completed her education, she moved to Tanzania, where she worked for two years at Alliance française of Arusha as a teacher, coordinator of training and examiner for French language certification. More recently, Pauline has lived and worked in Copenhagen for the last four years developing teaching programs for learning the French language in Denmark.

In the interim, Pauline also found time to serve as the editor of Instant French. She is, of course, a fluent English speaker who will make you or your child feel right at home as she introduces to you the wonder of learning the French language.
